Refractometer, Brix and SG w/ ATC

Product Description

This device measures the gravity of a liquid by measuring the refraction index of light to determine how much sugar is in solution. Refractometers require only a very small sample to work and are more portable than a hydrometer and test tube. These are often used by vintners to determine the sugar content of grapes right off the vine. The presence of alcohol can skew the measurements, so calibration is required when taking readings after fermentation has begun. This refractometer measures in both degrees Brix and Specific Gravity. An automatic temperature compensation function allows use in temperatures from 50 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit without having to adjust readings.
